Battle of Solferino - 1859 - The Northen Bit ...










... this bit had the Sardinian Army (Italians) attacking the Austrians. They had a bit of help. Here we can see the might of the Italian Army preparing to attack the Austrians. We were using Black Powder rules with a standard size unit being a regiment and small units battalions. But let's not spend to much time in the weeds, let's look at the piccies ...


They managed to get to the hill and charge up to attack the Austrians ...






















Next came the French Imperial Guard Grenadiers who faced an easy target, a Hungarian 'unreliable' unit who did not like the look of those Bearskins ....
