Games for January 3rd

The year gets off to a fine start with Martian Empires (JDE & Brett); Star Wars fighters (Mick, Tom, Greg, Mark) and Dave's Volley and Bayonet (apparently!) (Everyone else...)

Happy New year...!

Final game count for 2006

These are the games we played in 2006 - More GW than last year (82 out of 139 games) and more games than the year before (139 vs 121). Food for thought for those that don't like what they play?

To the best of our knowledge, the club resumes as normal the day after Boxing Day - anything to the contrary will be posted on the blog.

Games so far are Robin and Mick playing 40K - Any other games people want to bring down?

December Games

Next week, December 20th,

THERE IS NO CLUB MEETING!

The pub has a paying customer so we move aside.
Anyone up for a pint, we will be meeting somewhere else - watch this space or the yahoogroup emails...
That aside, next time we meet we are playing Mexican American war and WH40K - this will now be on the 27th unless we hear otherwise. Grudging congratulations to Bradley for winning the Warhammer League, by the way...

Games for December 6th

Next week - Mick and Tony W are playing "something"; Andy, JDE and possibly Robin are playing WFB, Everyone else seems to be playing Nappies again.

Good result in the league though - in two weeks, the final will be Bradley's Ogres vs JDE Chaos.

Games for November 27th

Another Mexican victory - how long will my luck hold? Anyway...

Warhammer League group 1 saw another victory for Bradley, proving that beginners luck goes a long way, and a tight draw between the Wood Elves and the Demonic Legion, leaving group 2 wide open.

Next week (27th) we have JDE vs Greg and Bradley vs Dave in the league; Mick vs Adam in Warmachine, and 6 people wanting to be either Napoleon or Sharpe, depending what side they end up on.

November 22nd

Shall I mention the Tomb Kings? Just a little? OK, they lost. Quite a lot. Ahem.

Nice to see a couple of new faces this week, hope you're not put off! Next week, 22nd - James, Brett, Mark and Mark are playing Mex Am war - in theory. Tony is playing Mick in the WFB league; Bradley plays Dave. Everyone else plays 40K.

Did I mention the Tomb Kings lost?

Games for November 15th

Shocking - three months of blogging and we're slacking already. Must try harder...

Tonight's entertainment - Warhammer league games, possibly some Warmaster, and a Tokyo-destroying game from Mick. Again.

Wednesday, November 01, 2006

November 8th games

Tonight - Car Wars 5th Ed proved a winner; Warmaster almost reached a conclusion. Alright, the good side won.

Next week - Aeronef; Epic and Warhammer - Andy vs Greg in the league.

Saturday, October 28, 2006

November 1st Games

November 1st sees 10mm Warmaster/LOTR - possibly the Pelenor Fields; 20mm Car Wars using Dark Future figures - remember them? - and possibly some Battle Fleet Gothic.

Games for 25th October

Tonight - a somewhat tweaked game of Aeronef came to an enjoyable draw; Brett won one game of Warhammer and Bradley won another.

Next week - three Warhammer league games and something historical!

Week after - Cars Wars!

Games for 18th October

Right then... Bradley won his warhammer, Robin won his. The Prussians were victorious...

Next week - Bradley and Robin playing WFB; everyone else it seems playing Aeronef. Mark (new Mark) and Andy G - if you're likely to be down let us know and we can accomodate accordingly.

Week after - Tony W playing warhammer.

Other stuff - The Foundry offers are here - http://www.wargamesfoundry.com/xmas/index.asp - let Mick know if you fancy any.

October 11th games

Next week - Warhammer League - Bradley v Mick; Non-League Warhammer game - Robin v Greg; and Franco-Prussian War - Dave, Brett, James, Phil, Mark (new bloke) and Mark (trainset).

Not sure what Brett means by trainset there.. :)

October 4th games

We had a result in the Warhammer game! Only a draw, but a result none the less. We also had an American win in the MexAm war, and a total party kill in the WHQ. Never mind, eh. Also a productive meeting about Legionary 2007.

Next week we have Warhammer - twice - and Battle Fleet Gothic - possibly twice.

Week after we may have FPW - see the list or next week's blog for details and rumors though.

September 27th

Another four succesful games, I think.

Next week - Subs! As of next week, it'll be a quid each please. This will be used for trophies, prizes, wargames shows etc.

Games for next week - Warhammer Quest; Mexican American War; Warhammer... I think that was it.

September 13th and 20th

Warhammer-wise, two chaos armies fought each other to a stand still, and the tomb kings and Bretonians didn't play enough turns for a result. Ha. The Gladiator game from eM4 seemed to work well, and Rapid Fire also produced a draw, although it had enough armour action to keep Brett happy.

Next week we're playing Warhammer again; ACW; and something else that Mick and Mark have arranged.

Wednesday, September 06, 2006

Games for September 13th

The tomb kings are off to a good start in the league as both the early games saw them victorious. The FPW was rewritten slightly as the Prussians didn't make enough ground to win the other game last night.

Next week, more WFB, Gladiators and Rapid Fire!

EWS Warhammer league 2006

From Commissar Brett...

As the league is about to start, I have set out the groups again, in case any of you have forgotten. Please be aware that the games are to last 6 turns, unless somebody concedes. To make things fair on those players who crack on and play the full 6 turns, if any game runs out of time with less than 6 turns played, both players will receive zero points regardless of the situation at the end of play. Now some of you may be thinking that I am just displaying my new Reich tendancies, but there really isn't any excuse for not playing 6 turns in 3 hours. Andy and I played two 6 turn 1500 point games today in 4.5 hours (including chatting and drink breaks), so it can be done gentlemen.I am setting up a spreadsheet to record the results, which I will update as often as I can.

The groups are:
Group 1:>>
Mick - Dogs of War
Dave - Bretonnians
Robin - Tomb Kings
Bradley - Bretonnians
Tony W - Empire

Group 2:>>
Andy G - Chaos
Tom - Tomb Kings
James - Chaos
Greg - Empire or Orcs and Goblins
Mark - Wood Elves

Next Wednesday at the club, we have WFB, Full Thrust, and Hordes of the Things - Bradley, Dave; bring your Hordes... I need the practice for Berkeley....

Games for 23rd August

OK.. this week we proved that GASLIGHT works and is fun, BFG Space Hulks aren't balanced and WW2 briefings can take too long...

For August 23rd we have the D&D miniatures game and Warhammer Fantasy Border Patrol.

Thursday, August 10, 2006

Games for 16th August

OK... Next week we're playing Rapid Fire; Battlefleet Gothic and GASLIGHT.

Thursday, August 03, 2006

Games for 9th August

Wednesday 2/8/06

This week we have 25mm Mexican American war, Battlefleet Gothic, and Warmaster Fantasy.

Welcome to the club...

Hello and welcome to the Exmouth Wargames Society blog. We've started this to publicise the club a little - it's a nice little club and we like it - and to show what we've been playing.

About the club - the club has been running for 4 or 5 years in Exmouth, East Devon. We currently number about a dozen regular memebers with others that drift through, and meet every Wednesday night in the back room of The Beach public house on Exmouth seafront (down by the Marina/Docks). We play a wide range of games - historical, fantasy and science fiction - and all scales. We'd welcome more players so if you're in the area, feel free to pop in.
