Weekly review and games for 5-8-09

Back to photo's this week!

Here we have the first Bull Run in 6mm (look very carefully the figures are there somewhere, although I did notice Vince had forgot to sew a button on one of them...)

Next is G.A.S.L.I.G.H.T. where we see the brave doctor rushing the colonial rebels to teach them what for!

This is not the victorious Empire army led by its sorcerer general at the end of turn six, it is in fact the Empire casualties at the end of turn 2!

Finally we have AvP 3 40k style where the bugs were well and truly stomped on...

Next week we have:

40k- Andy B and Vince

AWI- Brett, Trainset and Andy G

Warhammer (league game)- Robin and Bookmarc

ACW (or possibly Epic)- bradley, Chris and Knuckles

Remember its this Saturday (1st at 10am, Chapz barbers, The Strand) that I'm getting my hair chopped off so I'll be after your sponsorship money on Weds... :-)

This weeks quote: 'Right, you two stay here and guard him.'
As usual answers in the form of another quote from the same film please...

Until the next time, Mick

Weekly Update and Games for 29-7-09

Sorry no pictures this week due to a technical fault, my camera battery died and I cant find the charger anywhere... :-s

This week we had another nice looking 17th century game set somewhere in Europe. The uniforms back then were so pretty, they must of hated battles on rainy days as the mud would of totally ruined the ensemble...

There was another incursion into Afghanistan without icebergs this time (lets hope they'll be back soon). This also started a debate about trees in Afghanistan, if there are any there what sort? The lesser known Afghany Oak? The Kabul Conifer?

Two bands of warriors decided to duke it out in Mordheim. That place really needs a B&Q...

And finally the first Warhammer league battle was fought between the Skaven and Warriors of Chaos. Each turn ended up with the opposite army winning so it was only right that it ended up as a draw (with over two thirds of each army lost!). I found out an important thing at the end stages of the battle, my dice hate an audience. They may be random number generators but it seems mine are shy ones that dont like showing off by rolling high when needed or low when needed...

Next week we have:

G.A.S.L.I.G.H.T.- James, Andy B, Trainset & Rob

Warhammer (non league)- Bradley & Tom

AWI- Brett, Vince, Bookmarc & Andy G

A 'Mick' Game- Mick, Robin & Chris

This weeks quote- 'Its a mother loving bridge...'
Answers should be in the form of another quote from the same film this week as there are plenty more... :-)

Til the next time, Mick

Game debrief for 15 July 2009

Uncle Mick was working last night, so it's me again.

Napoleon fighting his way back to France through Austrians and Bavarians (or Australians and Bulgarians if you are Tom...)

Polish winged Hussars charge to stop the Ottomans from overunning Europe.

A Warhammer 'friendly' before their official Tournament Game. Apparently this evening, one learnt how not to do things - and that is not always a bad thing. (Where have I heard that before?).

Next week:
Mordheim: James and Trainset.
Warhammer League: Mick and Bookmark.
Afghan Modern: Tom, Greg, Andrew and Myself.
Something 'pretty' and 'Swedish': Rob, Brad and Brett. I am surprised there weren't more volunteers ;-)

Weekly Report And Games For 15-7-09

Bit earlier this week...

Here we have Modern Afghan round two. All was well until the icebergs appeared...

Another battle with pretty armies. Why cant modern uniforms look as nice as these, camo is so passe...

Finally we have the female followers of the goddess 'Paroxide' about to wish they had stayed in to do their hair...

Next week we have:

Warhammer- James & Trainset plus Bradley & Dude

Nappies- Phil, Bookmarc, Tom & Brett

Another Colourful and Historical Game- Rob, Andy & Tony

Seems last weeks film quote was to hard so an easier one this week:

Next week will be handled by my stunt secretary as work stops play for me...

Weekly report and games for 8-7-09

Sorry for the delay in posting the weekly report this week, work seriously stopped play...

A few of the guys tried out Sideshow's modern Afghan rules. Here we see the Americans checking out a possible Taliban hiding place...

Here we see the result of the Taliban detonating all the explosives they had placed in the building... (luckily the troops had their Weetabix that morning!)

The next game was a very nice Malburlian game, unknown result but the figures are pretty!

Here we have another very nice game from Brett associated with the colonies, this time its the American War of Independance in 10mm.

Finally we have a picture of an Ogre army with its Great Gut god behind (who said Ogres weren't real...!)

Next week we have:

Wars of Religion- Rob, Vince, Brett & Andy B.

Modern Afghan- Sideshow, Tony, Phil (open for others)

Hordes/SoBaH- James & Trainset

D&D (or something else)- Chris, Dude & Gregg (open for others)

This weeks poser-

'I'm here to chew gum and kick ass, and I'm all out of gum...'

Til the next time, Mick
